Dr Charles Ayesa is an experienced healthcare provider offering
monitoring and treatment of skin cancers, with a focus on patient education and prevention.
He practices at clinics in Castle Hill and Wahroonga in Sydney NSW.
Dr Charles Ayesa graduated with honours from the University of Tasmania before moving to Sydney. He completed his training in Western Sydney before becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Ayesa's interest in skin cancer medicine began during his GP training. Since then, he has developed his knowledge and skills working out of clinics in Castle Hill and Seven Hills and more recently at the Sydney Adventist Hospital in Wahroonga.
He has pursued post-graduate training through the Skin Cancer College Australasia (SCCA). In 2015 he completed his Advanced Clinical Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery and in 2016 the Advanced Clinical Certificate of Dermoscopy with distinction. In 2018 he attained the highest mark of the part 1 fellowship exam and in 2019 passed the part 2 exam to attain fellowship with the SCCA.
He is actively involved in the education of doctors in the field of skin cancer medicine. He is a College Censor of the SCCA as well as on the Teaching and Learning committee. He also is a tutor for the SCCA Advanced Clinical Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery, a lecturer in the Certificate of Dermoscopy, Advanced Surgical Workshop, Surgical Masterclass, an invited speaker for the annual Australasian Skin Cancer Congress and a blog editor for the Skin Cancer College blog.
He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer for the University of Queensland and a course instructor for one of the units (IMED7003) in the UQ Skin Cancer Medicine Masters Degree as well as an Honorary Senior Lecturer for Macquarie University and supervises medical students as part of the 3rd year GP intensive stream program.
